The following is a beautiful bormann shell recovered on the Fredericksburg battlefield (private property). The shell was recovered in Spring of 2008. It has been cleaned and treated to prevent further oxidation. As you can see in the pictures, the fuse cavity still shows the threads and the shell is in very nice condition. It does have two areas with some metal loss. One I believe is due to being drilled to disarm and the other from being in the ground. Overall a nice representation from the Fredericksburg Battlefield that would look great in any artillery collection.
