Here we have a beautiful pair of early brass candlesicks from the Civil War Period. These candlesticks are solid brass and stand 5 6/8 inches tall and are 2 3/4 at the base. They were dug from a privy behind a Civil War period house in Memphis, Tennessee by the Memphis Bottle Diggers. They have been completely cleaned and restored and would make a beautiful addition to a camp scene or for a dinner table setting. During the war, home owners would hide their valuables in the privy hoping to save them from enemy troops. These were saved but were never recovered by the original owners until  they were found just recently. They are over 140 years old!
