The Union Arsenal is home to many fine Civil War historical items.
Welcome to The Union Arsenal Civil War Relic and Memorabilia Shop. It is with great pleasure that I am able to bring this website with its many historical items to all of you who are interested in the Civil War. My passion for the history of the Civil War is what led to the creation of the Arsenal. As a member of the Civil War Dealers and Collectors Association, I will stand behind every item on this site. Honesty and integrity is something I value greatly and something you can expect as a customer. Your satisfaction is my goal. Each item is researched and I share as much information about the item that I know and also try to give a historical background too. Every one of these items is an important piece of American History and should be treasured by those who become "caretakers of the past". It is our responsibility to pass these items from generation to generation and preserve the history of the American Civil War thus honoring the men and women both North and South who served so valiantly. I hope you will stop by often and see what the The Union Arsenal has to offer. There are many rooms at the Arsenal so feel free to look around, you might just find that item you've been looking for. The Arsenal Collection grows daily so stop in and see our carefully hand picked selection of high quality items! Note: All of our artillery has been cleaned and rendered inert. Our shells do not contain any gunpowder and are totally safe for display. We do not purchase or sell live shells.
A small sample from our Rare Book Room of Civil War Era titles. Dates range from the 1860's to turn of the century.
Civil War Relic Restoration projects. I take great pride in restoring a relic in completely
rusted and dug condition and restoring it as close to original condition so it can be treasured for years to come. Most relics we leave untouched(swords, guns, coins) but there are some that need to be restored if they are to survive for future generations to enjoy. Here is one example.
Before restoration.
After restoration. Notice that even the original nail has been saved. If left in former condition, this relic would have continued to rust. Now it will last a lifetime and beyond. This is a Confederate Camp Axe used during the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia.
It was recovered on private property on Burnt Hickory Road.
